The short answer

Can a reactive dog be trained online?

Yes, in many cases. Online reactive dog training works when someone watches your dog, not a demo dog. In DCP you film your sessions, and every week you get feedback on your timing, your distance and the moment your dog starts to fixate.

DCP is not a recorded course. It is 16 weeks, one new week every 7 days, about 10 minutes a day, with weekly video review. Price: $197/month for 4 months, or $697 once.

How it works online

Every week, four steps.

  1. 01

    Watch

Watch the new lesson. A new week unlocks every 7 days.

  2. 02

    Train

Train about 10 focused minutes a day.

  3. 03

    Film & send

Film your session and send it from the app with “Record now”.

  4. 04

    Get feedback

Clear corrections on your dog and your next step.

Week 1 starts with your baseline: you film the problem, ideally just before your dog reacts, so we can see his expression and the moment you start losing him.

Where reactivity fits

The language first. Then the trigger.

  1. 01

    Weeks 1 to 4

    Understand & communicate

    Engagement and a clear language.

  2. 02

    Weeks 5 to 8

    Build the obedience system

    Positions, leash communication, recall.

  3. 03

    Weeks 9 to 12

    Tools & daily control

    Distractions, impulse control, real life.

  4. 04

    Weeks 13 to 16

    Control under high drive

    Control when it matters most.

Week 11 is Dogs, Reactivity & Neutrality.

By then your dog has engagement, markers, positions, leash communication and recall, so you have something clear to ask for when another dog appears. Reactivity is part of the whole system, not a trick on its own.

How I work with reactive dogs

Don’t wait for the explosion.

  • I start before the explosion. The moment I want to see is the fixation, when your dog locks on and you start losing him.
  • Your dog first learns a job he already understands, far from the trigger. Then we bring the trigger closer, step by step.
  • Corrections come after understanding. I never correct what the dog does not understand yet.
  • The goal is neutrality, not friendship. Your dog can notice another dog and keep working with you.
  • Control does not mean removing drive. A calmer dog is not the goal. A dog you can reach is.

Is it for you?

Honest fit.

For you if

  • Your dog barks, lunges or fixates on dogs, people or movement, and you lose him in that moment.
  • You can film short sessions, mistakes included.
  • You are ready for about 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 16 weeks.
  • You want a clear plan in the right order, not another hundred tips.

Not for you if

  • Your dog has bitten or seriously threatened someone and has not been assessed. Start with aggression assessment.
  • You want a magic trick or a promise that your dog will love every dog.
  • You cannot film your training.

No result is guaranteed. Some dogs will always need space and management, and that is fine. Progress is measured against your dog’s starting point.

FAQ

Questions about online reactive dog training

Can you train a reactive dog online?

Often, yes, when you can film your dog and work at a distance where he can still respond to you. You do the training. Rui or his team watch your videos every week and tell you what to change. If your dog has threatened or bitten someone, the cause and the risk must be assessed first, so start with the aggression assessment page.

How does the weekly video review work?

Every 7 days a new week unlocks in the DCP app. You watch the lesson, train about 10 focused minutes a day, film your session and send it from the app with “Record now”. Feedback arrives within 24 hours, with clear corrections on your dog and your next step.

Who reviews my videos?

Rui Navarro or his team, trained in his method.

Will my reactive dog learn to love other dogs?

That is not a result DCP promises. The goal is neutrality: your dog can notice another dog and still respond to you. A calm pass at a safe distance is a real improvement, even without play.

Do I need an e-collar for a reactive dog?

No. Equipment depends on the individual dog. Where an e-collar is used, it needs its own introduction and must fit a system the dog already understands. It never replaces the foundations. Read what to teach a reactive dog before the e-collar.

How long does it take each day?

About 10 focused minutes, ideally 5 days a week.

How much does online reactive dog training with DCP cost?

DCP is $197 a month for 4 months, or $697 paid once. Both include the full 16 weeks, weekly video feedback, a monthly group live and the DCP app, with a 7-day money-back guarantee. DCP Elite, with weekly 1-on-1 calls with Rui, is $997 a month, by application.
